The Essentiality of Certain Elements in Minute Quantity for Plants with Special Reference to Copper

Resumo

Os sintomas de deficiência de cobre foram induzidos em plantulas de tomate. Aplicação foliar de uma solução de sulfato de cobre (CuSO4) com 0,02 partes de cobre por milhão resultou na recuperação das plantas e retomada do crescimento normal tanto dos caules quanto das raízes.



Abstract

Copper deficiency symptoms were induced in young tomato plants. Spraying the leaves with a solution of CuSO4, containing 0.02 parts Cu per million, brought about recovery and resumption of normal growth of both shoots and roots.
